At Bayside Medspa in Norfolk, VA, we offer three types of skin rejuvenation treatments: HydraFacials, dermal fillers, and personalized skincare products.
While any type of facial can benefit your skin, none are quite as transformative as a HydraFacial.
What Is a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a unique, multi-step facial that works to reveal your skin’s natural radiance from the inside out. This non-invasive cosmetic treatment is gentle but effective, making it the right choice for those with the most sensitive skin as well as those with more serious, tricky-to-treat skin conditions.
This type of facial uses Vortex-Fusion delivery to perform multiple skin-beautifying treatments in a single facial. A HydraFacial cleanses, exfoliates, and extracts unwanted bacteria and buildup, then hydrates, infuses, and protects your skin with powerful serums.
What Does a HydraFacial Do?
Unlike many other skin rejuvenation procedures, HydraFacials are comprehensive and can address a variety of skin concerns. This treatment targets the root causes of many skin conditions and can treat the following:
- Acne and acne scarring
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven tone and texture
- Dry, dull skin
- Dark spots
- Enlarged pores
- Hyperpigmentation
Each step of a HydraFacial provides different benefits to your skin, so you don’t have to settle for treating just one skin concern. With a fully customizable HydraFacial, you can hit refresh on your skin and give it the boost it needs to look its best.
What Can I Expect During My HydraFacial?
When you come in for your HydraFacial, you can expect 30-45 minutes of bliss and relaxation in five steps.
Step one is cleansing and exfoliating. Although we ask that you come in with a clean, product-free face, we will begin by cleansing the surface of your skin to remove any remaining oil or residue that may still be on your skin.
Then, we will begin exfoliating your skin using the vortex exfoliation tip. This tip performs gentle microdermabrasion, clearing away the outermost layer of dead skin cells to prepare your skin for the next step.
Step two is a peel. We perform a light chemical peel to target superficial skin concerns. This will help clear out any blocked pores and reduce areas of hyperpigmentation. Depending on your particular needs, we will use either a glycolic or salicylic acid peel, but you can expect this step to target blackheads, whiteheads, and dark spots.
Step three is extraction. The vortex exfoliation tip performs gentle suction to extract any remaining debris that was not cleared away in the first two steps. Extraction ensures that every pore is cleared out, which improves your skin health, minimizes your pores, and helps your serums and moisturizers more effectively penetrate your skin.
Step four is fully customizable. This step will depend on your specific skin concerns. For some, this may require additional suction, but for others, this step will include the application of powerful serums. Whether you are interested in treating acne, minimizing wrinkles, or addressing texture, we will choose specific serums suited to your needs.
Step five is hydration. The last step of a HydraFacial is to nourish your skin with a hydrating serum. This is perhaps the most important step, as it will lock in moisture and infuse your skin with active ingredients to make it soft and radiant.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
If you are looking for skin rejuvenation treatments that will add volume and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers can give you natural, beautiful results.
Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables that are placed under your skin. With age, your skin naturally loses some of its elasticity and volume, resulting in hollow areas and wrinkles. Dermal fillers offer support that lasts from 12 to 18 months, but the ingredients in some fillers stimulate collagen production to provide even longer-lasting benefits.
What Do Dermal Fillers Treat?
Injectable dermal fillers are an effective wrinkle treatment. They can be used to treat wrinkles in different areas of the face, including frown lines, laugh lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and lip lines.
Dermal fillers treat wrinkles crossing larger areas of your face as well as the smaller, more delicate lines in the skin around your eyes and lips.
Many dermal fillers have the added benefit of activating your body’s natural anti-aging process by stimulating collagen production, which adds volume and support, keeps your skin hydrated, and helps your skin remain tight and elastic.
Are There Different Kinds of Dermal Fillers?
Yes, there are different kinds of dermal fillers. Different types use different formulas and ingredients, so some are better suited for certain areas of the face.
Two types of dermal fillers we provide are Radiesse and Prollenium Revanesse Versa.
Radiesse uses calcium hydroxylapatite, a calcium compound, to support your skin while stimulating the production of collagen. Prollenium Revanesse Versa is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that binds with the water in your body to plump your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
