Skin Rejuvenation Treatments: Which Is Right for You?

The condition of your skin enhances your appearance and also reflects your overall health. Because having vibrant skin is important for so many people, it’s easy to see why skin rejuvenation procedures are so popular. With all of the options out there, however, it can be difficult to know which one will deliver the results you want.

At Bayside Medspa, we offer a number of skin rejuvenation options to help you look and feel your best. Keep reading to learn more about each of the options we provide.

HydraFacial Treatment

HydraFacial is a non-invasive treatment that involves microdermabrasion followed by the application of hydrating serums. A HydraFacial deep cleans, exfoliates, and hydrates your skin.

Like traditional microdermabrasion, this skin rejuvenation treatment uses a slightly abrasive instrument to exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin cells so that healthy ones can benefit the most from the serums we apply. To perform this treatment, we use a motorized wand.

HydraFacials can help treat:

  • Acne
  • Acne scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dull skin
  • Lax skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Blemishes

We begin this skin rejuvenation procedure by performing a deep clean, removing debris and blackheads at the same time that we begin the exfoliation process. We perform the exfoliation with the Vortex Exfoliation tip.

We then perform a light chemical peel using either glycolic or salicylic acid. This step is perfect for addressing acne and hyperpigmentation.

The next step is unique to HydraFacial and involves extracting dead cells, hardened oils, and debris using gentle suction. Once we finish that step, we apply customized treatment serums that work to fix whatever skin condition you would like to resolve.

We finish the treatment by applying a hydrating serum that locks moisture in your skin. It has antioxidants, collagen, and other ingredients to leave your skin looking radiant.

One of the most popular skin rejuvenation procedures we offer is microneedling. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates your body’s natural healing processes, building the crucial collagen you need to diminish signs of aging.

This skin rejuvenation treatment uses sterile needle tips to pierce your skin’s top layer. These micro-injuries force the body to begin the healing process, boosting cell turnover and increasing collagen and elastin production.

Microneedling can help with many skin issues, including:

  • Acne scarring
  • Surgical scarring
  • Burns
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Melasma
  • Hyperpigmentation

We perform this procedure using a handheld device that delivers tiny, precise punctures along the treatment area. We apply a local anesthetic before we start, and the entire procedure typically takes anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectables that can help reduce signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. They can also help plump up areas that have lost volume, while at the same time working with your body’s natural healing mechanism to boost collagen production.

As you age, your body’s collagen and hyaluronic acid production decreases. Collagen is a protein that keeps your skin hydrated and firm, and hyaluronic acid works like a cushion, so when their production decreases, you can lose skin elasticity and fullness. Dermal fillers can help combat that.

Dermal fillers are good options for treating:

  • “11” lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow lines
  • Lip lines
  • Laugh lines

By using fillers with hyaluronic acid, you will be stimulating collagen production. Dermal fillers are an effective way of getting immediate results that increase volume in the injection sites. They are not permanent, and there’s no downtime to worry about.

Another type of skin rejuvenation option we offer is neuromodulators. The most popular of these is Botox, but there are also other brands that can provide the results you want.

A neuromodulator is an injectable substance made from the botulinum toxin. It interrupts the signals that your brain sends to the targeted muscles, stopping them from contracting. If you have fine lines or wrinkles that expressions like smiling or frowning have caused, a neuromodulator can help.

By stopping the muscles from contracting, you can have a smoother face. Some of the most common treatment areas include:

  • Forehead
  • Eyes
  • Eyebrows
  • Mouth

We offer Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin neuromodulators. They each have slightly different ingredients and prices, but we can help you decide on the one that will give you the results you’re looking for.

Although neuromodulators are not permanent, most people enjoy results for three to four months before needing a new session.
